The word yacht is synonymous with extravagance and luxury and the 25 Most Expensive Yachts Ever Built are the largest, most lavish toys on this planet.

Starting off the list, at a mere $46 million dollars, is the Meteor, which happens to boast a library and a fireplace. (Apparently pocket change doesn't buy overindulgences.)

Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, owns the $100 million Tattoosh. (It is, apparently, for sale for anyone who happens to have an extra million tucked away in a shoebox. I'm betting he's going to buy something even more expensive!)The Eos, owned by fashion designer Diane von Furstenber cost a cool $150 million and is said to feature a large sculpture of Diane herself on the deck. (Because... why not?)

Paul Allen may have bought a more expensive yacht. He owns the Octopus, which was purchased for an undisclosed amount of cash but is estimated between $160 and $200 million. This mega-yacht is even equipped with two submarines. (Apparently owning a mega-software company has its benefits. Who knew?)

Stepping it up a notch, $200 million can get you quite the boat. Features can include an indoor pool with a glass roof. Or how about 82 individual rooms with a basketball court and a movie theater? Even cooler than the indoor pool is the infinity pool where the walls double as a movie screen. (Popcorn, please!)

Big apparently begets big. The big price of $250 million for the Al Mirqab just happens to be owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Jessim bin Jaber Al-Thani, former PM of Qatar. (Try saying his name ten times fast!)

Coming in at number 3 on the list is the yacht the Streets of Monaco which is basically a country on a boat. It has roads, mini cars and also includes an airport. While this yacht was purchased for an undisclosed amount, it is estimated at well over $300 million in value. (I always said I wanted to own an island this would be way cooler!)

Jumping to the whopping price of $800 million is the Eclipse, owned by Roman Abromavich. This boat is equipped with anti-missile defense. (Wow. That's all I can say.)
