Summertime brings with it so many opportunities for delicious barbecues, salads, and light desserts, to serve to family and friends at home and get-togethers. These "4th of July Jello Fruit Cups," are a great addition for any gathering, party or event.

This is a great website of cooking and creating by Beth, who shares recipes for your sweet tooth, with a whole lot of treats mixed in. These jello fruit cups are easy to make and look great, I honestly haven't had jello in years, so I'am looking forward to making these. It's a good idea to make these a day in advance and cover glasses with plastic wrap after the jello sets, or you can make them about two hours before you serve them. You'll need strawberry jello, berry blue jello, water, cool whip, blueberries, and chopped strawberries. You'll want to fill the glasses alway full with the jello mixture, adding strawberries to the strawberry jello, and blueberries to the berry blue jello, place in fridge to set.

Before serving, you'll want to place the cool whip in a piping bag fit with a piping tip, pipe a layer of cool whip onto the jello, top with blueberries on berry blue jello, and top with strawberries on the strawberry jello, that's it, these look and taste, your guests will love them. Sometimes it's the simplest recipes that taste and look the best, this jello recipe reminds me of being a kid. Instead of the cool whip you can also make your own whipped cream with fresh cream and sugar (or real maple syrup for a healthier version), and whip till peaks form, this version tastes amazing but doesn't always hold its shape quite as long as the cool whip does.

The strawberry is for many their favourite fruit for both kids and adults alike. The juicy red berry that makes an appearance in the garden each year can be used of all sorts of dessert recipes from cakes, pies, jams, jellies and more. The first garden strawberry was said to be grown in Brittany, France during the late 18th century. Before this, wild strawberries and cultivated strawberry varieties from wild strawberry species were the common source of the fruit. The strawberry was mentioned in ancient Roman literature in reference to its medicinal uses. The French began to take the strawberry from the forest to their gardens for harvest in the 1300s.

Whipped cream is a delicious cream recipe that is made by using a mixer, a whisk, or a fork until the cream is light and fluffy. Whipped cream can be sweetened and flavored with vanilla, and can often be called Chantilly cream or crme Chantilly. To make whipped cream, the cream is usually whipped with a whisk, an electric or hand mixer, a stand mixer or a fork. To sweeten whipped cream you can use sugar, maple syrup, or honey. Store varieties of whipped cream use stabilizers to help them keep their form. You can use whipped cream for a variety of dessert recipes from no bake cheesecake, topping for fruits, topping for pies, layered in cakes and more.
