An Eighty-Year Collaboration on a Prairie-Style Couch

Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

Woodworking is one of the most satisfying hobbies one could ever engage in with their time. The best part is that you get to use and sometimes even sell your project once it is finished. You can always start small and eventually venture into bigger projects with wood. You can always collaborate with other people and their ideas as well. You will never know what you could create until you decide also to work with other woodworkers. Very fine woodworking is a manual job, and it could sometimes take a lot of your time before you can see the finished product, but you will always say in the end that all your hard work is worth it.

Take this amazing piece of furniture that was dubbed as the Prairie-style couch. It wasn't just made by one person, but rather a collaboration with a furniture designer, an upholsterer, and even an architect. This idea was made by possible by Scott Dickerson, who made an effort to contact these people that he knew would do a good job on this project. And indeed he was right because it turned out to be fabulous!

Before Dickerson passed the project to his collaborators, he made sure that everything he envisioned was detailed as per his instructions. The plan went flawlessly by the time the woodworkers and designers started working with their hands on it. Of course, this couch had to compliment the entire house, which once again was nailed by all of them. There is no I in team, and this project has indeed proved that saying. This is an inspiring project that we can all learn from. So if you have a vision in mind and you know you can't make them into a reality, find people who could and you won't regret it.
