There is good news for Star Wars fans. Todd Fisher, who is the brother of Carrie Fisher, has just announced that his departed sister will make a return as General Leia in Star Wars 9 that will be released in May of 2019. Fisher compared Carrie Fishers to that of Obi-Wan, when the saber cuts him down he becomes more powerful. He feels like that's what's happened with Carrie Fisher and that her legacy should continue.

Even more, astonishing is that CGI will not be used to recreate Princess Leia in the new movie. Todd Fisher states that instead of CGI previously shot footage of Carrie Fisher will be used instead. It is thought that Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia will most likely have an integral role in the Last Jedi. Her Star Wars part might be pared down or created in a different way to help minimize her screen time for Star Wars Episode IX.
