Who doesn't love pizza?! This is an awesome Cauliflower Pizza recipe that can be a super healthy snack or meal that fits into a well balanced lifestyle. Most people in North America are becoming seemingly more focused on eating more things that are good for them like vegetables and fruits, as well as lean meats or no meat at all perhaps. There isn't really anything wrong with pizza that is made with a normal crust made from flour, its just some people happen to not be able to process gluten very well, so it is better for them to stay away from it all together. Pizza itself doesn't have to be unhealthy, depending on the ingredients used to make it. If they are all fresh and organic then pizza can be a good meal.

This is a great snack recipe, or dinner recipe for people who want to eat less gluten, and eat more veggies! There are many cauliflower crust recipes out there, some of them turn out great, and others not so much. I think that the key to creating the perfect consistency to making a pizza crust, is to have a good binding agent for the cauliflower and to make sure that it is super dry after washing it. The wetter the crust is the harder it is to cook, because of there being too much moisture. The bonding agent in this particular pizza crust recipe, is an egg. Which would in fact be excellent for bonding. The pizza recipe also has a couple of different kinds of cheese like mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese in it in small amounts, which would also up the ante for a solid crust.

Now this healthy recipe isn't for a quick pizza fix, so be forewarned, that it does take some time and patience. It is not a difficult pizza recipe at all, but it is one that takes time and several steps to prepare. So make sure you prepare it well ahead of getting those hunger pangs. The cauliflower is washed and then microwaved or steamed on the stove top to cook it thoroughly. Then, as mentioned earlier, the moisture must be taken out of it as much as possible, by way of straining it through a cheesecloth fabric. It will take some wringing to accomplish that step! These are probably the most intensive steps, making sure that the cauliflower is prepped properly, and then it is all a breeze from there.

You can dress it up with whatever toppings you like! You can make a simple margarita pizza with just tomatoes and basil with mozzarella, or you can make a more elaborate pizza with some sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes with some olives. Or perhaps a more meaty pizza with some sausage or some shredded chicken on it. You can also cut up the crust into squares or rectangles and make them into a home made cracker! Wouldn't that be great? So this wonderful recipe can double as a cauliflower crust recipe or a cauliflower cracker recipe. Many uses for one thing, you gotta love a recipe with options. Even if you aren't watching your carbs, or gluten intake, this is a fabulous and simple recipe to just try out for fun. Or perhaps a great dinner party recipe that you can share with your friends. People always love to try something new, especially if it is a healthier option. So why not give this cheesy pizza crust recipe a shot, you never know, it could become a favourite in your house!
