1⁄2 cup butter

3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar

1⁄4 cup white sugar

2 tablespoons golden syrup (I use maple)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 egg

2 cups all-purpose flour

1⁄3 teaspoon salt

1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda

3⁄4 cup chocolate chips, divided

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Combine both sugars with butter best until creamy.

Add syrup, vanilla extract and egg. Lightly beat until just mixed through.

Add flour, baking soda and salt, mixing well until combined. If needed add extra flour a tablespoon at a time.

Add half of the chocolate chips.

Roll the dough into balls and arrange them on a lined baking sheet (parchment paper).

Press the remaining chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies.

Bake for 10 to 11 minutes.

DO NOT OVER BAKE!

Allow cookies to cool for 30 minutes before eating.
