If you are a chocolate desert lover than this Chocolate Italian Love Cake is for you to try out! This recipe from Chew Nibble Nosh food blog was adapted from a Paula Deen recipe and looks nothing short of amazing. Once you see the actual recipe itself, you will notice that it is extremely easy and a super fun recipe to make. So this would be a perfect one to make with kids or just if you want a super quick and easy delicious cake to have.

The ingredients are super easy to throw together and once it is all together it can sit in the fridge until you need to serve it. So this would be perfect for a potluck or any other dinner or gathering, since as she says in the post, this cake actually tastes better if it can sit longer. Not too long though obviously! You can make any cake flavour but she used chocolate. And the centre filling is kind of like a cannoli filling. Super creamy and fluffy with ricotta cheese. That is the Italian part you see! Something really interesting happens when you bake this cake though, you will have to read the full post to see what happens, but it is really like magic in baking! Even the author who wrote this recipe was surprised the first time she made it! The topping is so simple as whipped cream and chocolate pudding, which we all know taste really good together!

Once you have all the ingredients ready for this chocolate Italian love cake recipe, you can preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and spray a 9 by 13 inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. Now in a large bowl you can mix together the cake mix according to the package directions, then set aside. In another bowl you can use a hand mixer, and beat together some ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until the mixture is smooth. Now pay attention because you might think this is a misprint, but the layers in this chocolate Italian love cake recipe switch during the baking time. Pour the cake batter into the sprayed baking pan, and spread the cake mixture to fill the pan evenly. When the cake batter recipe is ion place, you can slowly pour the cheese mixture evenly over the top of the cake batter, and spread to cover the entire cake. Bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately one hour, until the cake is done. Remove the cake when complete and let cool.

Once the cake is cooled you can begin frosting. For the frosting you will stir together the pudding mix and milk, until combined. Now, slowly fold the Cool Whip into the pudding until it is combined. Next, spread the pudding mixture onto the top of the cooled cake. Then cover the cake and put into the refrigerator for at least six hours before you serve it. This is the type of cake recipe that tastes even better the next day.
