People have been cleaning with homemade cleansers using staples like vinegar, baking soda and lemons/lemon juice/lemon peel for a long time. Its practical and a trip to the grocery store yields a bunch of lemons for lemonade, with the bonus of using the peels to make a lemon scented vinegar cleanser solution. A favorite tip of mine is to make a window spray cleaner with the leftover lemon peels and equal parts water and vinegar.

Alternatively, Citrus fruits (especially lemons) are a great substance to clean and shine metals like copper and brass. Peel from an orange, grapefruit, lemon or lime with 3 cups white vinegar and a cup of water into a large quart container will make an effective cleansing solution to clean your bathrooms or kitchen. Mixing lemon juice with vinegar or baking soda makes cleaning pastes that can be safely used on a variety of surfaces. So effective, so cheap and so EASY TO DO! Plus it is safe for your home, your family and children/pets.

Natural lemon juice combats mildew and mold and baking soda and vinegar can unclog a blocked drain. To do this start by boiling two cups of water. Pour about a half of a cup of baking soda into the drain, then add baking soda with a half of a cup of vinegar and follow up with adding the water while still hot.
