Crab Cake Hush Puppies

Usually for most people, crab cakes may be something that would only be eaten in a restaurant, but why not try and make a version of them with this recipe for Crab Cake Hush Puppies? Also, the soldiers used to throw the fried dough bites to the guard dogs of the opposition so they would stop barking, hence, the name 'Hush Puppies' to make the puppies hush up! So cool isn't it?

Sometimes crab cakes can fall apart so badly when you are trying to make them, but with the casing of the dough around them, it would really help to keep them together in this case. You actually don't dip them to cover them, the batter and the crab filling are all mixed together to make one nice little bite sized bite!
