Some of the ingredients you will need for this creamy chicken tortilla soup recipe include shredded chicken, butter, chopped yellow onions, minced garlic, masa marina, all purpose flour, good quality chicken broth, evaporated milk, salsa, whole kernel corn, black beans drained and rinsed, cumin, ancho chile powder, salt and ground black pepper. To start heat the butter in a Dutch oven over medium high heat and saute the onion until tender, approximately seven minutes, then add the garlic and saute for another minute. Add the masa harina and flour and stir to combine and cook for approximately one minute, then gradually add the chicken broth, whisking constantly to prevent clumping. Then add the evaporated milk and simmer until slightly thickened. Next you can add the shredded chicken, salsa, corn, beans, and all the spices.
