This dish is perfect for a dinner recipe during the winter. It's a good comfort food that will give enough heat to your body, since you'll be using some red meat as part of its main ingredients. The original recipe for this dish was found by Carol1220 from an old magazine called Quick Cooking. The sauce for this steak will make your dinner unforgettable. Just imagine mixing some creamy mushroom gravy to this cube steak that is also seasoned and coated with onion, garlic and pepper. Yum!

We noticed that she prefers to use some onion and garlic powder for the seasoning, but you can also use the natural ones so it's healthier. But it's still fine if you also want to stick to the powder version. This will also require a lot of your time to prepare and cook it, so it's best to serve it on the weekends when you're not too busy. It's one of the ultimate comfort foods that you can serve to your family and it's best to pair it with some mashed potatoes or even steamed carrots to create a balanced meal.

Some of the ingredients you will need for this slow cooker recipe include thinly sliced onion, all purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, beef cube steaks and canola oil. You will also need brown gravy mix, mushroom gravy mix, onion gravy mix, some hot mashed potatoes, cooked rice or cooked noodles.

To start spray the inside of a slow cooker with some nonstick cooking spray, then place the sliced onions into the slow cooker. Then combine the flour, onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper in a large resemble plastic bag. Add the steaks, and shake until they are completely covered. Then heat some oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the steaks (a few at a time), and cook until lightly browned on each side. Place the browned steaks on top of the onions inside the slow cooker, and pour some water over everything. Cover the slow cooker, and cook on low temperature until the meat is tender. Then in a bowl, whisk together all the gravy mixes and add to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for approximately 30 minutes longer. Serve this dinner recipe over some mashed potatoes, cooked rice or cooked noodles.
