- 2 tablespoon beeswax

- 2 tablespoon coconut oil

- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

- A beet root powder

- Small containers

Directions

1) In a double boiler or glass measuring cup, put both beeswax and coconut oil. As the water boils, let it melt and stir it frequently in one direction.

2) When the beeswax is already melted, add the vanilla extract as well as the beet root powder of any lip color you desire. Stir it again. If you are using lipstick, wait for the lipstick to melt completely.

3) Once it is done, pour into the containers you prepared and cool it completely. Let it cool for about 20 minutes or more before covering.

So now, you already have your own version of your homemade lip balm. You have to take note that the color of the beeswax matters and affects the resulting output of your lip color. Beeswax act as moisturizer and its essential role is to give your lip balm its stiffness in order for you to easily apply. Lastly, for softer balm, pour less beeswax.
