It's nice and colorful, and sure to be a hit.A tip to get you started on this chocolate recipe so that you have as little clean up as possible is to line your baking pan with some parchment paper. And instead of using a double-boiler to melt the chocolate you can use the microwave in short time increments, to melt the chocolate chips. This bark recipe looks as good as it tastes.

The nice thing about this peppermint bark recipe is that it doesn't take a lot of ingredients. All you need is some chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and some mini candy canes. Start by putting some candy canes in a resealable plastic bag. Crush the candy canes in the bag by using a rolling or a mallet. You don't want to use a blender or a food processor for this step because you want the uneven bits and pieces that look great when sprinkled on top. Then line a nine-inch by 13-inch pan with some parchment paper, making sure to cover the sides, and leave enough so you can lift the peppermint bark recipe out of the pan when ready. Then pour the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave for 30-second increments, making sure to stir the chocolate between each increment until the chocolate is smooth and creamy. Then spread the chocolate evenly into the parchment lined pan.

Place the pan into the freezer for approximately twenty minutes. You can melt the white chocolate in the microwave just like you did with the chocolate chips. You want the white chocolate also to be smooth and creamy. If you find the white chocolate chips do not melt smooth enough, try stirring in a bit of shortening. Make sure to not overheat in the microwave. When the white chocolate is smooth, stir in some of the crushed candy canes into the mixture. Then allow the white chocolate to cool just a bit, and remove the pan from the freezer and spread the melted white chocolate and candy cane mixture over the top of the chocolate layer. Try to make the layer as smooth as possible. Then top with the remaining crushed candy canes, and press them into the white chocolate mixture with the back of a spatula. You can then get the chocolate bark recipe to finish setting by putting in the freezer for approximately 20 minutes. When it comes time to serve just remove the parchment paper from the pan and break into pieces or you can cut with a butter knife.
