Bezos adds $10.2 billion to his net worth this year, with Warren Buffett falling $4.7 billion from his peak during Trump rally. Jeff Bezos has leaped past billionaires, Amancio Ortega and Warren Buffett, to become the world's second-richest person. Bezos, who is 53, added $1.5 billion to his fortune as his company Amazon rose by $18.32 on Wednesday, the day after the e-commerce giant said it plans to buy the Dubai-based online retailer known as Souq.com. Bezos has a net worth of $75.6 billion on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which is about $700 million more than Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s Warren Buffett and $1.3 billion above Amancio Ortega, who is the founder of Inditex S.A. and Europe's richest person.

Bezos has added $10.2 billion to his wealth this year, and $7 billion since the rally of global equities began after the election of Donald Trump as the United States president on November the 8th. The rise on the Bloomberg index is the third biggest in 2017, just after Wang Wei the Chinese parcel-delivery billionaires $18.4 billion gain and an $11.4 billion rise for Facebook Inc. founder Mark Zuckerberg. Warren Buffett, who's added $1.7 billion in 2017, has lost $4.7 billion since his fortune peaked on March 1st at $79.6 billion. Amancio Ortega is up $2.1 billion year-to-date. Bezos remains $10.4 billion behind the world's riches person, Bill Gates Microsoft co-founder with $86 billion.
