You can even get fancy and use white or black truffle oil, capers, smoked salmon or caviar, and serve the mashed potatoes in martini glasses. Some of the ingredients you can use for this fun recipe include russet potatoes washed, peeled and quarter try and make the pieces uniform in size, seasonings, water, butter cut into little chunks, chive and onion cream cheese, and milk. To start you will place the potato pieces in the slow cooker and add the seasonings, water and butter, mixing well to coat the potatoes. Cover and cook on high for four hours until the potatoes are tender. Once the potatoes are tender, mash them well with a potato masher right in the crock pot, at this point you can stir in the cream cheese until evenly blended. Serve or keep warm on the low setting for up to two hours. If you up the setting to warm, you could keep the potatoes on for four or more hours.
