If you are looking for a really tasty easy to make dinner idea to serve the family or even to take to a pot luck dinner this super tasty Meatball Sub Casserole recipe looks like a fabulous option. Sometimes you just need a super quick and easy to make recipe for dinner time, especially if you have a larger family to feed. Crafty Creative Kathy has you covered with this awesome Meatball Sub Casserole. Everyone likes a good meatball sub, like the kind of sandwich you can get at Subway, or maybe you make them at home. Meatballs are a great way to pack in a lot of good protein and flavour into a meal too. Meatball recipes can be great served as a pasta too, or even as an appetizer like Swedish meatballs. This casserole recipe is one that you can even make ahead of time and freeze so that you have it on hand, ready to go. The photos of it look totally delicious, and will make you drool so don't look at them if you are too hungry.

The list of ingredients for this meatball sub casserole recipe isn't over the top either, all you need is a nice loaf of French bread, some butter, garlic salt, cream cheese, softened to room-temperature, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, a pound of frozen, fully cooked, thawed Italian meatballs (or your own homemade meatballs), Hunts Spaghetti Sauce, and some shredded mozzarella cheese. You slice the loaf of french bread into one inch thick slices and butter each one on one side. You basically make the pieces of bread into garlic bread by putting them under the broiler and toasting them. Then the bread pieces go into the bottom of your pan with the toasted side up making a layer of bread covering the bottom of the baking pan. Then, the cream cheese, mayonnaise and Italian seasoning gets mixed and spread onto the bread as evenly as possible and the meatballs are halved and layered on top of the cheese mixture. Then, the layer of tomato sauce gets poured all over the entire dish and the mozzarella cheese is layered on top of it all. Only thirty minutes in the oven and it's ready to be served!

I can't imagine a kid out there that wouldn't be totally excited to have this to eat for dinner. Kids love meatballs and they also love anything with a lot of cheese on it so this is perfect for even the fussiest eaters. You could even make the meatballs your self and make them out of ground turkey or chicken meat for a leaner option. There are even meatless meatballs for all of the vegetarians out there and some of them are actually pretty good! You might even make this recipe weekly if you find out that your whole family thinks its a hit.
