When you think of giant dogs, you typically think of Great Danes. Famous Great Danes include Marmaduke and Scooby-Doo. We've all seen one or two before and think to ourselves that is one enormous dog. Dogs like Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Bull Mastiffs and Saint Bernards are truly something to behold. Freddy is one large dog who lives in Essex, England. This Great Dane named Freddy stands at 7 feet 6 inches tall and is the tallest dog in the world. When the dog's mom Claire Stoneman brought Freddy home as a puppy, she knew he was going to grow into a big dog, as most Great Danes do. She knew that the average size of a Great Dane male could weigh upwards to 190 pounds and stand at approximately 33 inches tall. What Claire didn't know, was that her large dog would soon grow to far surpass those large measurements. Freddy, the Great Dane, is over two feet taller than Claire when the dog stands up on his hind legs, and the dog weighs in at over 200 pounds. Last year Freddy was officially recognized as the worlds largest dog by the Guinness World Records. And while most owners might be put off by his enormous size, Claire says she has nothing but love for her large fur-baby. Before Freddy the tallest dog recorded in history was Zeus. Zeus was a Great Dane who was 44 inches tall. When Zeus stood on his hind legs, he towered over his owners Kevin and Denise Doorlag at seven feet four inches tall. Zeus passed away in 2014 at the age of 5.

Great Dane, Freddy lives with Claire, her children, and his Great Dane sister, named Fluer. Together, Freddy and Fluer eat a large amount of food to keep them healthy and happy. The dog's favorite snacks are said to include peanut butter on toast and roasted chicken. Claire says her grocery bills can cost over $15 000 a year alone. The dogs have destroyed furniture and broken other household items that have added thousands more to Freddy's expenses. Clare has come home to find a sea of foam across the floor. But she considers Freddy to be her baby and can't imagine life without him. Claire's days consist of long walks and super sized meal prep for her two fur-babies.
