My Spaghetti & Meatballs

Spaghetti is a dish that originated in Sicily, Italy back in the 12th century. But it was not until the 19th century when it was made available in restaurants in the United States. This is an easy recipe to do, it just takes knowing all the right ingredients to use, and the proper way to prepare them. For the meatball recipe you will need egg, milk, white bread crumbled, ground chuck, finely chopped onion, chopped parsley, crushed garlic, salt, and pepper. For the spaghetti sauce recipe you will need olive oil, chopped onion, crushed garlic, sugar, salt, dried basil leaves, fennel seed, pepper, Italian tomatoes, tomato paste, spaghetti and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

To start preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Then in a medium sized bowl, beat the eggs slightly, then add the milk and bread, and mix well. Let stand for about five minutes. Add the ground chuck, onion, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper and mix until well blended. Shape into meatballs, about one and a half inches in diameter. Place in shallow baking dish, and bake uncovered for approximately 30 minutes. Then in a Dutch oven using hot oil over medium heat, saute the onion and garlic until golden. Add the remainder of the sauce ingredients and some water, and mash the tomatoes with a wooden spoon. Bring the tomatoes to a boiling. Then reduce heat and simmer, covered, for about one hour longer, stirring occasionally. Cook the spaghetti to al dente and drain. Then to serve place the spaghetti on a serving dish and top with meatballs and sauce, sprinkle with some cheese.
