NASA administrator says Area 51 and extraterrestrial life exists

When I was younger, ET was one of my favorite movies. I was totally convinced aliens like ET actually existed. I didn't realize, then, that extraterrestrial life was a hot topic, subject to conspiracy and debate. My interest in Area 51 is probably in large part due to the various conspiracy theories that exist, and the fact my father has always claimed he witnessed an alien ship as a young boy. I have spent countless hours searching through records available to me via the internet trying to get to the bottom of topics such as whether aliens actually exist and what Area 51 really is up to. Now, a NASA administrator says Area 511 and extraterrestrial life exists. But what else does he say?

Charles Bolden of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) claimed to a number of British school children that he was certain scientists would someday make the discovery of life outside of Earth because many Earth-like planets have now been found. NASA is the US government agency responsible for the civilian space program as well as aeronautics and aerospace research, and one of the leading authorities on such topics. NASA became operational in 1956 and since that time most US space exploration has been led by the organization, including the Apollo moon-landing missions, the Skylab space station and the Space Shuttle. There are unmanned programs, Pioneers 10 and 11 and both Voyager probes, that carry messages from Earth to extraterrestrial (alien) life as they explore the outer boundary between the Solar System and interstellar space.

Connected, somewhat, is the United States Air Force facility commonly known as Area 51, a remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base in the Nevada Test and Training Range. The base's primary purpose is not known to the public, but based on leaks of historical evidence it most likely supports the development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. This secrecy, however, has made Area 51 a subject of conspiracy theories about UFO and alien folklore. While there has been controversy surrounding those who have publicly spoken about their working knowledge of and experiences within Area 51, the amount of real information the US government has provided regarding Area 51 has been extremely minimal. NASA administrator Charles Bolden confirms that Area 51 does in fact exist (despite the US government having previously denied it) but, he says, It's not what many people think... it's a normal research and development place. I never saw any aliens or alien spacecraft or anything... (I would like to point out that just because he never saw anything, doesn't mean nothing actually exists).

So, Charles Bolden confirms Area 51 but denies alien life forms at the same time stating that he believes aliens do exist. Is Bolden speaking truth, or is his testimony to a number of children merely a clever cover-up attempt? Like all good conspiracies, we'll probably never know. I do agree, though, that someday, somewhere, if it hasn't happened already, we will find other forms of life (because, if not, who was ET phoning home to??).
