If you have a garbage disposal in your kitchen, you know what a great convenience they can be, but on the flip side, you also know that they can be awfully stinky at times too. Well, here is a great tutorial for you on How To Clean And Remove Odors From A Garbage Disposal Or Blender. Having a garbage disposal can be awesome. You just put your scraps from cooking right into the sink and it just eats it all up for you. This can save you time, and energy and its kind of fun to use too! But, there is a downside to putting scraps down your sink, all of the debris you add in, starts to take on a nasty smell after awhile. There are so many different methods on how to clean garbage disposals, and you have to try them out to see which one works better for you. So why not try out this one and see how well it works.

The other nice thing about this method, is that it is all natural. There are so many cleaning products out on the market these days, and most of them do the exact same thing as the next one, but they are all marketed in pretty packages and containers, with nice labels and names for them, so they make you feel like it is something you need in your home, or your cleaning routine won't be complete. The truth is, it wasn't until more recent decades, that you go to the store and there is a whole isle dedicated to cleaning products. They can be a waste of money, and they hurt and poison our Earth when they go down the drain, plus they are not good to breathe in, or get on your own skin, and they can be a hazard if you have a child in the house or a curious pet. So its great to try the chemical free, natural options first.

This idea is so awesome! From Apartment Therapy, Ashley Poskin, writes about this great way to clean out your garbage disposal so there is no more stench. Ashley says that she cleans hers pretty frequently, by squeezing lemon juice down the disposal drain. Then, once in a while when she is doing a big top to bottom clean in the kitchen, she will sprinkle some baking soda down the drain and let it sit for a few hours, which helps to loosen up any debris in the drain too, and leaves it smelling nice and fresh! This is an even easier method that will take you no time at all, and you can also use it to clean your blender too.

All you need to make these handy dandy little cleaning disks is distilled white vinegar, one lemon and a regular old muffin tin. All you have to do is cut up your lemon into tiny little pieces, and then just pop them into the muffin tin, then you pour in a good amount of the white distilled vinegar into the tins over the lemon pieces, and then you simply freeze them overnight and they will be ready to use in the morning! You basically just pop them into your garbage disposal and voila! They will be cleaning the disposal in no time at all. Ashley even suggests sprinkling some baking soda down the drain with the lemon vinegar pops, for an even more sparkling clean. These are wonderful for cleaning your blender, or magic bullet too. They will take out any of the scents of the foods you have been blending and give the blade part of the machine a good clean. Lemons are so fabulous for cleaning, leaving that nice, fresh scent behind that just smells so clean! Try out this awesome tutorial on your kitchen equipment and see how it works out!
