The bacterial culture converts lactose into lactic acid, so even if you are lactose intolerant you can include this in your diet plan. Greek yogurts, just like the other yogurts, are a very healthy food provided that you choose the natural varieties without added sweeteners. Also be sure to read the back because if it says 'no sugar added', then this may mean that they are substituting for artificial sweeteners which are bad for you health. Also be sure to choose a full fat yogurt which has less chemical processing than the zero fat versions. It also contains calcium which helps maintain strong bones and teeth and reduce problems.

You should choose Greek yogurt among the others, simply because of its tangy characteristic and not-so-sweet taste. The making of this yogurt takes quite a bit longer than the other yogurts, as you can see in its creaminess and thickness. However, you have to be careful with other yogurt products that are Greek-styled. Preservatives are added to it in order to have similar taste with the Greek yogurt. You have to read the label first and its nutritional facts.

This product is also used as cream and mayonnaise for cakes. Now I understand why it is in the recipe and I could therefore, conclude, that Greek yogurt is what makes this cupcake special.
