Stromboli is a turnover recipe that is filled with various cheeses typically mozzarella, Italian meats like salami, capicola, and bresaola or vegetables. Italian bread dough is the recipe that is most often used in this stromboli recipe. In American pizza shops, you will find Stromboli served using the pizza dough folded in half with fillings that are similar to a calzone recipe. In other restaurants, you will find Stromboli made with a pizza dough recipe that is square in shape. The stromboli recipe is then topped with any pizza toppings and rolled into a cylindrical shaped and baked. This stromboli recipe is similar to a pizza which includes meat ingredients, cheeses and herbs. Ham is another common ingredient found on a pizza, but this recipe also has salami. Salami is a cured sausage which is made from fermented and air-dried meat from beef or pork. Ham with salami is equal to the pure heavenly comfort of delicious goodness. Herbs such as dried parsley are responsible for the mouthwatering aroma of this dish.

Ham is a popular meat that is either cooked as a whole cut of meat in the oven or used as lunch meat. Ham is pork meat that has been preserved through salting, wet curing or smoking. Ham was traditionally made only from the hind leg of a pig and referred to that specific cut of the meat. Ham is made around the world, and can include some high-quality regional specialties. Some of the coveted ham recipes include Westphalian ham and Jamn Serrano. The duration of the ham curing process varies with the type of ham used, with the Serrano ham being cured for 9 to 12 months, Parma hams taking at least 12 months to cure, and Iberian hams that take up to 2 years to reach the desired flavor characteristics. Some dry cured ham recipes, such as the Jinhua ham, can take about 8 to 10 months to complete. Most modern dry cure ham recipes use nitrites, which are added along with the salt. The nitrites used to deliver a distinctive pink or red tinge to the meat, along with an imparting flavor. The amount and the mixture of the salt and nitrites used has an effect on the shrinkage of the ham meat.

Pizza is the recipe that most people in the west have heard of. It is probably one of the most popular recipes in North America. Typically its a flatbread recipe that is topped with tomato sauce and shredded cheese and baked in an oven until the cheese is bubbly. Pizza is usually topped with a variety of meats, vegetables, and condiments. The modern pizza we know today was invented in Naples, Italy. You will find pizza recipe variants depending where you are in the world.
