The World's Second Strongest Man (The Mountain From Game Of Thrones) Eats 8,000 Calories A Day

From HBO's Game Of Thrones a.k.a. "The Mountain" -- Hafpor Julius Bjornsson is the second-strongest man in the world that can deadlift 925 pounds (the first-strongest man in the world, Zydrunas Savickas, can deadlift 1,155 pounds). Seemingly, he eats a straightforward protein-centric diet to support his giant muscles.

"I usually eat around 8,000 calories, depending on what I'm doing. My favorite food is a medium rare filet mignon with a baked potato and something like broccoli or salad. As a matter of fact, having just returned from winning Strongman Champions League in Finland only a few days earlier, I also won Iceland's strongest man, the fourth time in a row, after my father cooked me one." Bjornsson tells Sports Illustrated.

You'd need to consume about 114 oz. of the stuff, which would cost you about $240 a day if you bought the six 6 oz. filet deal from Omaha Steaks, to get the requisite 8,000 calories a day from filet mignon alone.

Here are three of our favorite filet mignon recipes to try, just in case you aspire to strongman filet greatness:

Filet Mignons With Spiced Butter, Glazed Artichokes, and Haricots Verts

"An Eastern-inspired spiced butter makes the usual filet mignon even juicier. Artichokes and haricots verts, cooked separately and then baked together, taste luxuriously rich that complements the meat nicely."

Porcini-Crusted Filet Mignon With Fresh Herb Butter

"Flavorful crust from ground dried mushrooms are for the steaks."

Filet Mignon With Truffled Mushroom Ragout

"Rosy steaks smothered in fragrant mushrooms, with a drizzle of truffle oil, and a drink like Merlot, such as the 1999 Wente Crane Ridge Reserve, this dish is positively swoon-worthy."
