You can serve this dessert recipe with whipped cream, ice cream, sauces, nuts, chocolates, or anything else you can think of. The ingredients you will need for the brownie recipe include oil, granulated sugar, melted chocolate, eggs, vanilla extract, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and flour. For the fritter recipe, you will need flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla, eggs, and milk or soy milk. You will also need oil for frying. For serving and garnishing, you could also have some ice cream, chocolate, chocolate or caramel sauce, chopped nuts or whipped cream.

To start with the brownie recipe, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a nine by 13-inch baking pan with some parchment paper and set aside. Then in the bowl of an electric mixer on medium speed, beat together the oil and sugar until well combined. Then add the melted chocolate and quickly beat it in to incorporate. Then add the eggs and vanilla and beat until they are smooth. Next add the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Beat until smooth. Then turn the mixer to low and add the flour, and beat until just combined. The brownie batter should be very thick, almost like a dough. Pour it into the prepared baking pan. Then bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 35 minutes. Then remove from the oven and set aside to cool completely.

When the brownies are fully cooled, cut the hard edges off, then cut the brownies into approximately 24 pieces.

Next you will want to roll the brownie squares into balls (the shape doesn't have to be perfect). Then put into the refrigerator until ready to use. You can make the brownie recipe ahead of time, and freeze the brownie balls in an airtight container then defrost before the next step in the recipe. To start the batter recipe, use a small bowl, and whisk together the flour, baking powder, and sugar. Then add the vanilla, eggs and milk and mix until combined and smooth. Again this batter should also be pretty thick. Then to assemble the fritters, heat about two inches of oil in a deep frying pan over a medium heat. If you want to test if it's hot enough, drop in a tiny bit of batter. If the oil is hot enough, the batter will immediately bubble up and rise to the top. Then dip one of the brownie balls in batter and roll until it's evenly coated.

The Overtime Cook recipe blog was created by Miriam, who says she bakes too many cookies. She is a 20-something Jewish girl from New York. She started to cook and bake as an outlet, and over the last couple of years, it's morphed into so much more than that. On a typical day, you can find her out of the house for her day job from 7:00 in the morning until 7:30 at night. In those hours when she gets home and has to leave for work again, she likes to get to work cooking, baking and documenting it all on her camera and sharing it on her recipe blog.
