But it is so nice to just be able to pop a piece of orange in your mouth without having to deal with the peel, which can tend to be quite bitter and tasteless if you accidentally bite into it. Now line up your knife and make a cut into the orange straight down going through the peel and into the centre of the orange. After that one cut has been made, it will then be extremely easy to pull the orange apart, a sort of like an accordion and take off and eat the delicious segments. This technique could also be used with success for grapefruit, lemons, limes and various other types of citrus hybrids.
