Guys, do you know someone who has the ability to feel and perceive other people's feelings although they are not on the same situation? I don't know. I know a lot of people but I can't identify who has this kind of ability. Right, basically, you are having a hard time identifying who is an empath. An empath? Yes, you read that right. The person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual is called an empath. How to spot it? Well, here are three of the 30 qualities of an empath and see if one of your friends has this.

Empaths are usually reclusive and unresponsive. Some may tend to shut out others. *silence* Are you thinking about Elsa now? Alright, never mind that. Also, I am not saying that shutting out others is a bad thing for empaths. Christel Broederlow says in the Mind Unleashed website, Some are very good at 'blocking out' others and that's not always a bad thing, at least for the learning empath struggling with a barrage of emotions from others, as well as their own feelings.

Also, empaths are sensitive to TV, videos, movies, news and broadcasts. Any intense scenes may affect them. Violence or emotional dramas depicting shocking scenes of physical or emotional pain inflicted on adults, children or animals can bring an empath easily to tears, says Broederlow. They would become physically sick. Empaths may have troubles in understanding such cruel actions. Expressing themselves to close-minded and less compassionate people can be a problem too. They simply cannot justify the suffering they feel and see.

Lastly, empaths can be excellent storytellers. Their endless imagination, inquisitive minds and ever-expanding knowledge has fueled their storytelling skills. Also, empaths are keepers and old romantics. If not the obvious family historians, they may be the ones who listen to the stories passed down and possess the majority of the family history. Not surprisingly, they may have started or possess a family tree, Broederlow explains. So if you see a friend who has a collection of family stuff and has expressed their passion towards his or her family heirloom, then you might be friends with an empath. And I must say, pal, that YOU are lucky. *winks*
