Authentic Italian Spumoni

Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

I've been reading the articles posted on "Cooking with Nonna" for quite some time now. Now on her Facebook she has posted a new article for some good old authentic Italian spumoni. Now if you're like me and have no idea what a spumoni is, rest assured it's delicious! Italians have always had a knack for coming up with delicious recipes that will make the whole family happy, and while they're usually known for their pastas and pizzas, now you can add desserts to that list too. While this dessert is a little more obscure than their more famous gelato, it's similar in taste and texture but has it's own unique twist.

Now as for what a spumoni is, it's really just a flattened piece of ice cream made into a peculiar shape with different colors and flavors. There are a ton of different ways to make it, and here it seems as though there is some chocolate, vanilla, mint, strawberry and more. While the woman behind "Cooking with Nonna" is usually the one making the recipes, here she's actually the one trying it.

Here she went to one of her favorite Italian restaurants where she ordered this authentic Italian Spumoni, and now you know what to order the next time you get a dessert at your own favorite Italian restaurant. Although I'm not sure exactly how they get it to look the way they do, the mystery will make it that much more fun. Now all you need to do is either find a restaurant where they sell Spumoni, or figure out how to make your own.

On this amazing website you will find traditional authentic Italian recipes passed down from generations of Italian grandmothers and Nonna's from all the regions of Italy.
