Well, if you want to know, I'm going to tell you a little about this sweetheart!

To start, Oreo, according to Wikipedia, is sandwich cookie consisting of two chocolate wafers with a sweet creme filling in between. In 1912, Nabisco, known previously as National Biscuit Company located in New York, is the one who first developed Oreos that is actually called Oreo biscuit. In 1921, it is renamed the Oreo Sandwich and in 1948, the Oreo Crme Sandwich. About the cookie's design, the original one has a word Oreo in the center of it. However, in 1924, a new design is passed. The modern-day design by William A Turnier has the company's logo in it. And did you know that lemon-filled Oreos were also available before? Ok, over 90 years ago, during the 1920's. For the filling, the modern Oreo cookie filling is developed by Sam Porcello, Nabisco's principal food scientist. He is also responsible for the dark chocolate and milk chocolate covered Oreos. Ladies and gentlemen, let us take a moment to appreciate and thank Mr Sam Porcello for his contributions in the development of our beloved Oreos. Thank you, Sir!
