Smaug vs. Game of Thrones Dragons

Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

The Game of Thrones author gave an exuberant talk in New York about whether his dragons could beat Tolkiens. Martin recalled a recent email about an online argument over whether Drogon, one of Daenerys Targaryens dragons, could beat Smaug, the beast from J.R.R Tolkiens. To quote: The Hobbit, in a fight and offered a highly rational answer: Basically, no. Drogon is a very young dragon and still barely large enough to get Dany into the sky...Smaug is gigantic, not to mention that Smaug talks and would probably have an intellectual advantage. But, Balerion could give Smaug some trouble; they're more equivalent in the size and ferocity department.

To make a few comparisons from a cool crafted Dragon chart, which compares Smaug to other popular dragons, including Game of Thrones dragons, Balerion and Drogon.

Smaug is a fearsome dragon, the main antagonist in J.R.R Tolkiens The Hobbit. Smaug is described as a greedy, strong and wicked worm. His armored coat of jewel-encrusted scales appears impenetrable. But, as you can see Smaug is smaller than Balerion.

Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion these three siblings were born in the Dothraki Sea. Drogon is the largest and the most aggressive among the three hatchlings and was believed to be the reincarnation of Balerion. Rhaegal is distinguishable by his green and bronze colored scales. His frills and wings are yellow-orange colored, becoming a darker green near the wing-bones. Viserion is distinguishable by his cream and gold colored scales, while his horns and spines are white.

Balerion was colored black with red highlights, also known as Balerion the Black Dread, the gigantic dragon ridden by Aegon the conqueror. It was so large it said his shadow could swallow an entire town when Balerion took flight.

So what do you think guys? Who really is the greatest dragon? Which of these fire breathers is your bet?
