Meet 'Game of Thrones' Real-Life Counterparts

I read and watch the series Game of Thrones on HBO and was startled to see reports of the first four episodes of season five leaked to the internet on the day of the season premiere.

Secretly delighted, I researched where I could view them and stumbled across a few reports stating they were purposely released due to someone annoyed that HBO was airing a controversial documentary on 'Scientology'.

The episodes were released during the airing of the Scientology documentary that further fuelled this speculation. In the first four episodes, it was clear that the directors were not going to follow the books exactly and changed story arcs for some major characters, and introduced a bunch of newcomers as well. This is great news for the people who read the books as then everyone is in for a surprise.

It is also important to note that on the fourth screeners copy for the episode "The Sons of the Harpy", there were some major story changes and there was a text stating "version one" across the top of the episode. This could lead one to think there are a couple of versions of this story and that if HBO decides not to pursue this version, even the spoilers will be useless and everyone will be shocked. I think this is a brilliant marketing plan and I am eagerly looking forward to the next few release of this hit tv show.

HBO is going after the torrents and illegally downloaders so I would only recommend streaming these episodes. Not that it will do anything as there were reports the leaked episodes were downloaded over a million times the first day they were reported leaked.

Needless to say, I will be glued to the tv screen to see how the thrones series unfolds. 'The Rolling Stone' has a great piece on the game of thrones and you can check it out via the link below.
