Star Wars: 10 Giant Plot-Holes You Probably Missed

Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

Could it really be true? Could a film series as great as Star Wars really be full of plot holes? Say it isn't so! But alas, if we start looking a bit closer, we start to see there are indeed a few major gaps that could have been filled in a bit better. In this article, we examine 10 of the biggest.

For example, in A New Hope, the very first Star Wars film that came out in 1977 - in one of the highest-tech films of all time at that time, it's hard to believe they did not think of using any technology similar to what we call email today. This sure would have made things much easier for Princess Leia when she had to get a message to Obi Wan Kenobi regarding the plans for the Death Star, uttering the now-famous plea: Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi! You're my only hope! She recorded her holographic message using R2-D2 and then sent him off in good faith, hoping he might just be able to get to the vast desert planet of Tatooine and find Obi-Wan somewhere therein. Of course, this was very plausible at the time but by today's standards, all of that could have been cleared up within seconds!

The next one is so obvious it will blow your socks off. At the end of Revenge of the Sith, when Luke and Leia are born, they are separated and hidden away from Anakin Skywalker (who has just transformed into Darth Vader), their father, for their own protection. But if they're to be concealed from Vader, why in blazes would Luke retain his father's last name? Luke SKYWALKER? Why would he be sent to live with his father's family on his father's home planet and keep his father's name? If the ever-so-Sith-psychic Vader had ever had so much of an inkling that Luke was alive, he very easily could have found him.
