This Cheesy Pull-Apart Bread recipe is a simple idea to make when it is game day, or you need something for an appetizer or dinner party. The recipe is so easy to make, and people just love its cheesy goodness.

You won't need a lot of ingredients for this simple appetizer recipe, stuff you probably already have like a crusty loaf of bread (country bread or a sourdough works nicely), some Monterey Jack cheese (mozzarella also works), room temperature unsalted butter, minced garlic cloves, and salt. You can use some finely chopped up green onions to in the mix as well.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then line a baking sheet with some parchment paper, and place the loaf of bread you have on it.

You might even opt to wrap up the bottom of the bread loaf in some aluminum foil, that way you can bake it right on the oven rack, and don't have to use a baking sheet, either way works just fine. Now evenly cut slits diagonal slices on the bread, not cutting all the way through, just about 3/4 of the way down. Then turn the loaf around and cut slits that run next to the first slits you cut. Next you will want to slice thinly some of the cheese (you can also shred the cheese if you prefer). Now mix the room temperature butter, the minced garlic, salt and the green onion so that they form a paste. Cover the cheese with the mixed butter mixture and in the rows that you cut the bread. Now cover the top of the bread with some aluminum foil, and bake in a preheated oven for approximately twenty minutes. Remove the aluminum foil, and bake in increase the temperature of the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake about five more minutes, or until the cheese melts and the top of the bread is starting to brown slightly.
