Get ready to be blown away with this epic dessert, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake!!! If you are a lover of chocolate and peanut butter, than this recipe will absolutely be your favourite new recipe to make. This is not for the faint of heart when it comes to desserts. You will go to chocolate heaven with this one. This cake isn't the prettiest cake of all time, but it is super tasty. Sometimes that can be the case with really good recipes, they can sometimes look like a mess. But who really cares that much when then taste so good?! I will always be willing to try anything once. Sometimes recipes that look too pretty, can be hard to cut into and destroy. All of that time and hard work just gets cut up anyway. Even though it is fun to make pretty looking desserts, it is like a form of art all in itself after all. But, it is not essential to have desserts looking perfect.

This recipe was made to celebrate chocolate peanut butter day. I had no idea that such a day even existed. But knowing that there are so many people who absolutely love the combination of peanut butter and chocolate, it really doesn't surprise me honestly! It isn't high on my list of favourite dessert flavour combinations, it is actually closer to the bottom. I will have a little bit of a chocolate peanut butter dessert, but I don't love it. I like Reece's peanut butter cups, but that is about it when it comes to peanut butter and chocolate desserts.

This recipe is made with a chocolate cake batter, made from the box, which is super easy to make. Then you mix up a concoction of peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar, and then it is added into the cake batter to be baked into the chocolate cake. Then, if that isn't enough chocolate and peanut butter for you, you also add some chocolate chips and then some tiny peanut butter and chocolate cups... Wow! When it comes out of the oven, it will have all of these cracks and breaks all over the top of the cake, making it totally look like an earthquake of chocolate peanut butter cups created an earthquake on the cake! It looks pretty cool actually. The cake is served very best when it is warm and gooey. Of course, with some ice cream on top, and maybe some whipped cream too. Yummy!!! This would definitely go over so well with kids. They would just think it was so cool. You could even place one of their favourite super hero charters on top. Or a dinosaur, making it look like it created the cake earthquake.
