Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

I love eating chips. I'd eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner if it was acceptable practice. Thankfully Two Maids a Milking food blog, has shared this amazing recipe for Hunk of Meat Taco Bake. That's right, tacos... as in DORITO chips. Two Maids a Milking is a recipe blog created by Amy, a music-lovin', tea drinkin', stay-home mommy of 3 and Liz, a dairy cattle showing, wine loving, cake baking wife and mommy who are two farm girls that talk about life both on and off the dairy farm as well as all the dirt in between, all the while providing us with amazing recipes we can all enjoy.

So, we all know we can't have a Taco bake without tacos. This dish could be made with plain ol' taco shells (tortillas), but it actually calls for Doritos, to help spice things up a little bit. Doritos is a brand of tortilla chips first produced in 1964 by Frito-Lay. Originally the chips were first made at the Casa de Fritos at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, by Alex Foods. Surplus tortillas were cut up and fried (like totopos, traditional Mexican chips) and then given a basic seasoning for flavour. Seeing the popularity, Frito-Lay took over production and then released Doritos nationwide in 1966. There are many flavors of Doritos, including Cool Ranch, Zesty Cheese and Nacho. Choose your favourite and the make this dish your own! This Taco bake also calls for un-cooked crescent rolls, which will form a crust for the dish. The easiest solution is to purchase Pillsbury crescent rolls. Did you know that Pillsbury was actually founded in 1872? And the Pillsbury Doughboy? He was created by Rudy Perz a long time before he was ever utilized for the first time in a 1965 marketing campaign. Just a tip: if you have concerns about the dough cooking in a timely fashion, with all the layers atop, you can try pre-baking to ensure a non-doughy texture.

Not surprising, there is lots of dairy in this dish, from the sour cream and cheese to the hamburger. There are plenty of healthy options, including fat-free sour cream, light cheddar, and lean hamburger. The preparation time is minimal and the taste is a high reward. This is a dish the whole family will love, especially kids and those like me the young at heart. Everyone who tries this is sure to love it though, and you don't have to worry about your kids not enjoying this, because, come on, chips for dinner?! They will be shocked and surprised to hear that their parents are actually allowing them to have chips for dinner. This Two Maids a Milking food blog is an excellent place to find a ton of great recipes that are family friendly, and cost effective. Because when you are running a household, you need great and easy recipes that don't cost a lot of money. Food is expensive, but you should never have to scrimp on feeding your family!
