To make this simple bread recipe you will need a loaf of French bread, some melted butter, some pesto and some provolone cheese. When you have your ingredients together preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Slice the loaf of bread into 3/4 inch slices, leaving the bread attached at the bottom near the crust, so that it can hold the loaf together. Then put the sliced loaf of bread onto a piece of aluminum foil that is a bit longer than the loaf of bread. Now mix the melted butter and the pesto together, and with a basting brush, spread the butter mixture over the top and inside each of the slices in the loaf. Cut the cheese into slices and cut into pieces that can be placed onto each slice of bread in the loaf. You will want to crimp the aluminum foil around the bottom of the bread so that it holds together, and also to catch any drips of butter or cheese that may fall. Place the aluminum foil covered loaf of bread into the preheated oven and bake for approximately fifteen minutes, or until the top of the loaf is a nice golden brown, and the cheese is melted.
