When was the last time you made s'mores? I have to admit, for me its been years, but after trying this treat, I think it will be our office summer treat this year! I know the kids will definitely be happy with that decision! S'mores Krispy Treats are fun, easy to make, and bring you back to camp fires, ghost telling, and summer-vacationing fun! You can pack them up, store them in the freezer, or if you're generous enough, share them with your friends!! These treats are perfect for any picnic or your next long-weekend getaway! I guarantee it as long as they last...

Originally an American camping treat S'mores are gooey marshmallows sandwiched with some chocolate in between two graham crackers all roasted over a campfire. Mmmm.. You can't really go wrong with that combination of flavors and textures. De-lish!! And since they've made their boom, it seems that large confectionary companies and brands have taken these key three flavors and come up with a spectrum of food products snacks and treats ranging from pop tarts, cereals, chocolate bars, even milk shakes. S'mores have definitely become one of those classic summer-time American flavors, I'd say.

Just looking at the photo of this S'mores Krispie treat is making my mouth water, it's a nice variation on the popular treat made famous on camping trips all over North America. This dessert recipe is so quick and easy to do, and there is no doubt that everyone will love it! The ingredients you will need for this S'mores Krispie treat recipe include butter, regular marshmallows, Golden Graham cereal and chocolate chips. To make the recipe start with a large sauce pan, melt some butter over medium heat. Add the add the marshmallows and keep stirring until the marshmallows are completely melted and you get a marshmallow sauce. Then remove from heat. Add Golden Grahams and stir until they are all well coated. You can then chose to crush some up before adding them if you want some smaller pieces. Next stir in the chocolate chips.

Having three kids means that after-school snack time can get quite chaotic, especially if one is to try to take on the challenge of individualized treats! Could you imagine? It would be like making three different meals within the 45-minute segment of time between after school soccer and tennis practice, piano and dinner. Forget about that!! Like many mothers out there, I like to prepare snacks in advance or prepare something that is easy to store, serve, and tidy away. Simple is best and organization is definitely key! Banana breads, home-made granola bars, some variety of a fruit-crumble square, and then of course the all time classic, rice krispy treats! My friend Sandy shared with me her recent after school snack her take on the campfire favorite, s'mores. I don't normally like marshmallows but this was so good! I picked up the recipe and it'll be on the to-do list this weekend for next week's snacks! You gotta try it too!
