DIY Backyard Fire Pit

Find Your Perfect ONLINE JOB

Turn your backyard into a cool camping place with your very own do-it-yourself fire pit. You don't need to hire someone to do it for you because with simplest tools and instructions provided here, you will realize how easy it is to do on your own. If you want to make this project even easier, you can simply buy a fire pit kit that is usually available in hardware stores or at Lowe's because these kits have all the things you need to build one.

But if you want to really start from scratch, you can do that as well and here is a handy little guide to get you started. First, you will need stones for the pit. 44 stones will do and a metal bowl in case you want it inserted into the center of your fireplace. This will make your fire pit look more sophisticated and modern and it can also hold more burning material once it is finished. If you are new to the DIY scene, then don't be shy to ask the people who work in the building stores for materials that are unfamiliar to you. This is true whether you are a man or a woman! Many men feel as though they should know about building because they are men and regardless of if they were brought up with the knowledge or not. Knowing about tools and building does not make you a man, so don't feel shy to ask for help.

Building your fire pit will be really fast as long as you have all the materials ready. Likely in about 15-30 minutes you will be able to assemble everything and have the fire pit ready to start your first party.

To build your fire pit:

First, make a base of the pit and make sure that the surface is not flammable at all. Create a circle on the first layer using the stones for your fire pit. Be sure that each row is leveled well before you start building the next row. It is up to you how many layers you would prefer, but 4 are enough to make it tall and stable. Put the metal bowl and make sure that it overlaps the lip of your stones. And that's it! Your very own fire pit!
