You won't believe how this "Photographer puzzled by UFO over New South Wales." This photographer got a big surprise after one of his outdoor photo sessions of the sky.

A photographer in the Australian town of Cawongla in New South Wales captured a lot more than he was expecting when he noticed an unidentified flying object (UFO) in one of his photos. The photographer, Andrew Hanlon, who is an astronomy enthusiast was taking pictures of the Moon on January 30 in an attempt to photograph a planet moving behind the Moon. With his Panasonic digital camera mounted to a tripod, Hanlon snapped photos every thirty seconds. He didn't notice anything unusual in the sky while he was taking the photos. It wasn't until he was going through his photos the next day that he noticed the unidentified object in one of the photos. What an amazing discovery he unexpectedly made! Hanlon was intrigued by the unexpected bright object in his photo, he is trying to identify this UFO. Although he says he didn't hear any aircraft engines during his photographing session, he considered the possibility that the photo might have been taken at the exact moment when a plane's lights were flashing. But he was reportedly told by an expert that he could rule out this possibility.

A UFO, otherwise known as an unidentified flying object, is any apparent anomaly in the sky that is not identifiable as a known object or phenomenon. Culturally, UFOs are associated with claims of visitation by extraterrestrial life or government related conspiracy theories, and have become popular subjects in fiction. While UFOs are often later identified, sometimes identification may not be possible owing to the usually low quality of evidence usually photos or low grade video, related to UFO sightings (generally anecdotal evidence and eyewitness accounts). Studies have established that most of the UFO observations are just misidentified conventional objects or natural phenomena, most commonly aircraft, balloons, noctilucent clouds, nacreous clouds, or astronomical objects such as meteors or bright planets with a small percentage even being hoaxes Between 5% and 20% of reported sightings are not explained, and therefore can be classified as unidentified. While proponents of the extraterrestrial hypothesis suggest that these unexplained reports are of alien spacecraft, the hypothesis cannot be excluded that these reports are simply other more prosaic phenomena that cannot be identified due to lack of complete information or due to the necessary subjectivity of the reports. Stories of fantastical celestial apparitions have been told for ages, but the term UFO, which stands for unidentified flying object was officially created in 1953 by the United States Air Force to serve as a catch all for all such reports.
