You can also get very affordable items second hand at thrift stores which is another great way to recycle old stuff. So lets get to it and learn more about these cool diy ideas.

1. Make a cute dog bed out of an old sweater. All you need is an old sweater you don't wear anymore. You basically sew the arms of the sweater to the sides of the sweater and sew a line across the chest of the sweater too. Then, you put a pillow inside this area and sew the bottom up. Next, you fill the neck and arm spaces up with cotton filler and sew up the neck and the arm holes. Voila, you have the perfect bed for your pooch.

2. Another cute idea for your furry friends would be to cut off the collar off of an old button up shirt. Then put it on your dog as a cute little shirt collar. It looks funny and cute at the same time.

3. For all the felines out there, you can create a little hideaway for your kitty cat by tying a large t-shirt over a simple cardboard box with the neck hole at the opening of the box. Cats love it.

4. Make a cool looking scratching post for your cat too. All you need is a small piece of wood and some old carpet and rope. Just fix the rope to the wood by wrapping it around, you can glue it on to secure it as well. Then, fix a piece of carpet by stapling it with a staple gun. Then, drill a hole at the top and string some rope through to hang it securely on the wall.

5. You can also make some cute accessories for your house out of an old t-shirt. Just cut off the lower part of the shirt and cut a square that your pillow will fit inside. Then you make little fringe cuts, place your pillow inside and tie up the little loose ends. The perfect no-sew project.

6. For a cute girl's crop top, just cut the back lower half off of a tank top then flip it over and cut a straight line right down the front. When you put it on just wrap and tie it around the back.

7. Why not put some old jeans or jean shorts to good use by making them into a gardening tool belt? Just cut off the front and the legs and leave the waist band and the back pockets in tact.
